We're super-excited to tell you all about Dub Dash, "The Biggest Little Show You've Never Been To."

If you've been to the Dash you know what it's all about, but for the uninitiated we'll try to break it down the best we can other than some of the stories you may've already heard.

The Dub Dash started as a last minute idea to end the car show season with a bang in fall of 2002. That first year we had about 88 cars total and almost every one of them ran the Dash. When we got back, we had a BBQ and "show" and hung out till well after the sun went down, and agreed that the Dash should be an annual event.

Not a lot has changed since that first event, as it's still a grassroots show and we spread the word via word of mouth on mainly Midwest enthusiast European Car Community forums and at other Enthusiast shows.

Location is key to anything, and Dayton, OH is the perfect area in the Midwest to host a show. We have interstates 75, 70, 35, 675, and many other major arteries that convene here from all points. We regularly pull a good sized caravan from the Uberdubs group in Indianapolis, Indiana, the CVOL group from Louisville, Kentucky, MIVE group from Michigan, some other northern Ohio groups, such as Fatdubs and OhioVW, and Volkswagen/Audi enthusiasts as far as TN, IL, NY, VA. and WI, MO, FL, Canada, and more.

We have a lot of unique things we bring to the table, with cars being the focus and glue that brings us all together.....and these cars serve  to push the envelope of performance and style in many respects, but yet mainly fly under the radar with little or no media coverage, just like the Dash itself.

Simply stated, we're in it for the fun of the hobby and the enjoyment we get out of the cars....we're not financially motivated to put on this show, which is apparent in what we provide the attendants for their money spent.

All this equates to a great vibe and mix of good people. Almost every person that attends is a complete enthusiast, so you'd be hard-pressed to find a car in the show that doesn't have at least a few modifications on it.

It's impressive that there are no fights or drama that goes on at the show, which speaks volumes to the attitude of the average enthusiast that attends.

This is an open invitation for ANY European car, regardless of year, make, or model....
This makes for a very interesting variety and show field.
In addition to the air and watercooled VW's in attendance, we've had new and old Porsches out, as well as Mini Coopers, Mercedes, Saab's, Volvo's, BMW's, and so on....

No two years of the Dub Dash are exactly alike....in fact, far from it!

We award the top 20 cars, regardless of make or model, along with some really off the wall awards, such as "Most Brake Dust", "Baldest Tires", etc., as well as best of show aircooled and watercooled, and best club participation.

The Dub Dash is not a race, rather it's a chance to get out and enjoy our cars and some nice Ohio roads and autumn scenery.

The event is always held the first weekend of October.

We also want to say a quick word about one of the main reasons we have been able to survive on word of mouth advertising and offer you all of this so cheaply.

 SPONSORS!

The sponsors are mostly local businesses, who are also enthusiasts themselves, first and foremost.

Most importantly, they are also loyal to us by supporting us and our hobby, and most will give a discount if the DubDash is mentioned at the time of purchasing parts or services for your beloved ride.

All of our sponsors are listed on the back of the shirt every year and we make banners which display their logos and phone #'s.

So thank you to our sponsors and thank YOU for supporting US AND THEM!

In summary, what we have is a whole region of people of all ages that have one thing in common.....the love of European cars and all the things that go with it....so basically, we are one huge extended family and this is like a reunion.....the last show of the season before we put the cars in the garage or put them in Winter mode on the snow tires and raise them.

We usually have an average of 250 cars at the show and roughly 100 run the Dash.

So spread the word and make plans to join us this year and every year....we'd love to have you out.

Keep posted at this site for a breakdown of the schedule and costs for 2010 Dub Dash Nein:

The grounds are lowrider friendly.

We also will allow pets, but please make sure your pet is well behaved....we can't have dogs running around and scratching cars and fighting with other dogs.

SWAP MEET SPACE

We always encourage people to bring out their used parts to trade and sell, as this is an important part of the community, yet a lot of folks don't capitalize on it.

Swap meets are a must as it's getting harder and harder to find the common AND rare parts to keep your car in top condition, both mechanically and visually.

Aircooled guys have taken advantage of these for years, but they're not too common in the watercooled part of the scene, so if you have anything laying around the garage for a car you don't have anymore, please load them up to sell at the show or to trade for something that you may need for your present car.

We will set aside an area for swappers to set up or you can put a few items for sale by your car.

The swap meet portion of the event will be free as always, and if you feel inclined to do so we will accept donations if you have an exceptional day.

So, is this all clear as mud then?

We've tried to answer all the questions that normally pop up, so if we missed something please let us know.

Thanks to everyone who comes out and has a great time and respects the grounds and other peoples' property.....the Dash has always been a great event in this respect and we want to keep it this way, which is the main reason we don't hype the show and keep it more underground and word of mouth.

We've always tried to spread the word about the show the way we do because we don't want to attract the wrong type of people....

Sincerely,

Chris, Josh, and the Dub Dash crewe

The event always happens rain or shine, and as you know if you've attended in the past it may be freezing cold or blazing hot in Ohio that time of year. Cool

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
